Ministarstvo poljoprivrede, šumarstva i vodnog gospodarstva je još 2007. godine donijelo Naredbu o poduzimanju mjera obveznog uklanjanja ambrozije – Ambrosia artemisiifolia L. (NN 72/07) sa ciljem njenog suzbijanja i sprječavanja daljnjeg širenja na području RH. Sukladno tome, vlasnici i korisnici poljoprivrednog obrađenog i neobrađenog zemljišta dužni su provoditi mjere njenog uklanjanja.

Uklanjanje je moguće izvršiti mehanički (plijevljenje, čupanje, košnja, okopavanje) ili kemijski (uporabom herbicida na osnovi glifosata – u skladu s uputom priloženom uz sredstvo).

Važno je uklanjanje obaviti prije cvatnje ambrozije kako bi se spriječilo izlučivanje peluda (alergije kod ljudi), a potom i stvaranje sjemena (daljnje širenje).

Nadzor nad provedbom ove mjere provode poljoprivredna, fitosanitarna i šumarska inspekcija.
